Communal worship and social gathering

While the level of resourcing available to arrange events remains as it is, there will be only one face-to-face gathering each year (our year begins 1 October).

The gathering will be either in the northwest sector (Southampton or Ringwood) or in the southeast sector (Portsmouth or Newport), alternating year by year.

The dates of the social gathering will be chosen from among the middle two Saturdays in August (avoiding the Bank Holiday weekend) and the first Saturday in September.  We are mindful of the additional burden required to cross to/from the Island but are determined not to let that impede our gathering together.

When there is a larger number of volunteers getting involved with the SUA, in particular, when we find a President and thus have a full slate of Officers, the number of gatherings may be increased.

Social gatherings will include a worship service and a lunch; but no business, as all business will be conducted in the Ordinary Meetings (all of which will be conducted by video conferencing).  In the social gathering there may also be a short outing to a nearby place of interest, or other shared activity aimed at energizing Unitarianism.

The date of the gathering in 2025 will be Saturday 6 September, and the gathering will be held at the Edmund Kell Unitarian Church, Bellevue Road, Southampton SO15 2AY.
